Analysis on mobility data collected from cellular stations in Korea

Covid-19 has crushed the summer peak, although it did not had impact on weekend hot places in Seoul.

Business Data Lab (BDL) analyzed mobility data sponsored by K-Data. From 2018 to 2020, the reesearch team inspected mobility records generated by more than 30 million people.

Interestingly, geographical distributions of point-of-interest were not altered. However, the team noticed that a summer movement peak vanished.

In addition, the Seoul citizen visited Gangwon-do almost as the same as before the outbreak of Covid-19. Jeju-do got much more attention even after Covid-19. To the contrary, Incheon - where an international airport is located, experienced a dramatic decline in terms of tourist inbound.
